Salik confirmed that the temporary Dh2 increase — applicable only during the 6am to 10am morning peak, is due to traffic adjustments for the Dubai T100 triathlon race, which coincides with the Dubai Fitness Challenge and is expected to draw major road activity with its 2km swim, 80km desert bike ride, and 18km city run. All other timings, including evening peak hours from 4pm to 8pm, remain at the usual Dh4, while low-peak hours stay unchanged. With Salik also posting a Dh1.14 billion profit in the first nine months of 2025, many commuters may have mixed reactions to the hike.
