While many public parking spaces are free during Eid al-Fitr, it’s not universal across all locations. In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority has made public parking free for the first three days of Eid, but multi-storey parking remains chargeable. In Abu Dhabi, the Mawaqif system offers free public parking during the holiday, and Darb toll gate system charges are also suspended — though both resume after Eid. Sharjah allows free parking except in smart parking zones, while Ajman has similar exemptions for public parking but advises checking signage. Across the UAE, private lots and certain facilities may still charge, so drivers should always follow posted signs to avoid fines.
