L'Avare by Moliere
His popular play by the French equivalent of Shakespeare, Moliere, focuses on a wealthy however miserly male named Harpagon. In his shameless pursuit of wealth, Harpagon falls for a woman who takes place to be his child's enthusiast and insists that his child marry the richest male he comes across when she is currently in love with Harpagon's assistant.
