Iftar at SMCCU- The Iftar that allows the public to get involved and learn about it returns this Ramadan.

The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding is holding a daily Iftar to enlighten and educate the public on the practices and traditions followed by Muslims during the month of Ramadan. The Iftar will be held in the courtyard of the wind-tower house at the Al Fahidi Historic District of Old Bur Dubai. The evening begins with the Athan (the call to prayer) followed by the breaking of the fast with Emirati hosts after which Arabic dates and coffee will be served. Once the hosts prayers are complete, Iftar will be served. During the Iftar, visitors are encouraged to ask any questions they may have about Ramadan and the cultures and traditions of the UAE. After Iftar, visitors will be escorted to the Diwan Masjid and then return back to enjoy some dessert and tea. The Iftar event will begin around 15 minutes before the call to prayer every evening
