Furjan 8 (8th Residential Districts Championships)- Encouraging sports among the youth during the summer months.
Organised by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) The Residential Districts Championship (Furjan) is not only an inter-district sports championship but also an attempt to encourage sports among the youth of the nation during the summer months and reach the DSC aim of Having a Distinctive Sports Community. Included in the championship are Football, Volleyball and Basketball with players being encouraged to form their own teams and compete against each other in two age categories, 17 to 20 and 13 to 16. Each sport will have 8 groups with 4 teams each and 15 players in each team and there will be 3 rounds for each group. Registration dates (15-30 July) Venues for each sport: - Football (9 - 28 August): Category 1: Hatta City, Al Jafiliya Yard, Umm Suqeim Park, Al Twar 2 Yard Category 2: Al Rashidiya Yard, Nad Al Hamar Yard, Al Qouz 2 Yard, Al Safa 2 Yard.
