The UAE Philharmonic Orchestra will present Fairytales with Orchestra, a family concert designed to introduce children to classical music through storytelling and live orchestral performance.
The concert will take place on October 3 at New Covent Garden Theatre, Mall of the Emirates, bringing together a live symphony orchestra and narration to recreate some of the world's best-known stories.
The one-hour performance will take young audiences on musical journeys through Aladdin, Sinbad the Sailor, Peter and the Wolf and The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Stories brought to life through music
A live narrator will guide audiences through each story as the orchestra uses music to introduce characters, create different settings and build the atmosphere of each adventure.
The programme features works by composers including Sergei Prokofiev, Paul Dukas, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Carl Nielsen, among others.
By combining storytelling with live orchestral music, the concert aims to offer children and families an accessible introduction to classical music while encouraging them to experience the sound and energy of a live orchestra.
A family-friendly introduction to classical music
Fairytales with Orchestra is designed as an interactive and imaginative concert experience for young audiences, using familiar stories to make orchestral music easier to understand and enjoy.
The performance will give children an opportunity to discover how different instruments and musical compositions can help portray characters, moods and events within a story.
