Al Gaffal Traditional 60ft Dhow Race 2015 - This is the Silver Jubilee 25th anniversary of the iconic boat race.

The Al Gaffal Dhow Race is a traditional sailing race designed to honour the pearl divers who were integral to the emirates development as a young trading port. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2015 the race features around 100 traditional boats, measuring 60 feet each. Spectators can see all the on water action of the dhows with their beautifully polished hulls and crisp sails from ashore or from specially chartered Dubai Ferries. This year, the boats will once again set sail off Sir Bu Na'ir island at 5.35am, passing by Moon island as a mandatory checkpoint and ending at the iconic Burj Al Arab. Please also note that due to the reliance of the sport on local weather conditions, the schedule of the Gaffal Dhow races may change accordingly. Keep an eye out on this page for more updates. To watch the races, call the afformentioned number and book a ferry ride with Dubai Ferry. Please note the price to book a ferry is AED 250 per person for silver class and AED 375 per ticket for Gold class. Please call the numbers listed to book a ferry ride
