Mechanics say that while modern vehicles are designed to withstand high temperatures, prolonged exposure to extreme heat places significant strain on key components, including the cooling system, battery, tyres and engine. Routine maintenance and early detection of minor issues can help drivers avoid unexpected breakdowns.
The advice comes after Dubai resident Abdul Aziz, an engineer, noticed a burning smell while driving home from work. After taking his vehicle to a nearby garage, mechanics discovered the coolant level had fallen below the minimum mark—an issue that could have resulted in severe engine overheating if left unattended.
According to mechanics, similar cases become increasingly common during the UAE summer, with many problems beginning as small faults before developing into major mechanical failures.

1. Monitor the Cooling System
