UAE Ranks Third Globally in Public Trust in Government Performance
The United Arab Emirates has secured third place globally in public trust in government performance, according to the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer. The annual global survey evaluates public trust in institutions across 28 countries, with the UAE emerging as one of the most trusted nations worldwide.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the ranking on his official X account, highlighting the nation’s continued success in fostering trust between the government and its people.
Sheikh Mohammed stated, "According to the recently released 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer’s Global Report in New York, the UAE government ranked third globally in public trust in government performance. Trust has been built over 50 years of legitimacy, hard work, and achievement."
He further emphasized that under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, trust in the government continues to strengthen. He noted that credibility remains a cornerstone of governance, and the country remains committed to creating the highest standard of living and the most successful development model.
Edelman Trust Barometer’s Global Report Findings
The 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer surveyed over 33,000 respondents across 28 countries. The study found that while many nations face stagnating trust due to concerns such as misinformation, economic uncertainty, and rising inflation, the UAE stands out for its stability and strong public confidence in both government and business sectors.
Since the UAE was first included in the Edelman Trust Barometer in 2010, it has consistently ranked among the most trusted nations. Respondents cited the government’s competence, ethical leadership, and commitment to national development as key factors contributing to high levels of trust.
The ranking further reinforces the UAE’s global reputation as a nation focused on transparency, governance, and long-term sustainability, positioning it as a model for other countries seeking to enhance public trust in government institutions.
